The Person Behind It
Alexander McGregor lives and works in Calgary. He holds a full-time technical role during the day and runs Auburn AI on the side, which is exactly why the catalog stays small and honest about what each kit actually does. There is no team – one person builds the thing, tests it in production on a real site, then packages it.
The pull toward AI automation came from necessity, not trend-chasing. Managing several content and affiliate properties at once meant finding ways to get repetitive work done without touching it every time. n8n turned out to be the right tool – self-hostable, inspectable, not locked to a single cloud vendor. Claude turned out to be the right model for text-heavy tasks where tone and judgment matter. Those two tools now run across seven production properties, 21 active n8n workflows, and 19 scheduled Windows automations. The Shop is where the reusable pieces of that system get packaged for anyone else who wants them.
What Auburn AI Actually Is
Auburn AI is a sole proprietorship registered in Alberta. It is not an agency, and it does not take on client engagements. The properties Auburn AI operates – seven editorial sites, an Amazon Storefront, a KDP publishing catalog, and two music projects – all run on the exact automation architecture sold in the Shop. That is not a marketing angle. It means every kit has been through real failure modes before it was ever listed: broken webhooks, Claude rate limits, n8n version upgrades that quietly changed node behaviour, cron jobs that ran at 3 a.m. and nobody noticed until morning.
When you buy a kit from Auburn AI, you’re buying something that has already been broken in production and fixed – not something built fresh for the sale.
Why Canadian-Built Tools
Most AI prompt packs, blog title packs, and automation templates online are US-authored and it shows: American tax terms, American card programs, American regulatory citations. Auburn AI’s catalog is built from the Canadian context the operator actually works in day to day – CRA and HST logic, PIPEDA and CASL, Canadian real estate and travel-points programs, Canada-specific compliance language. The Honest Version of the Mission
There’s a lot of AI consulting and AI strategy content out there right now – decks, frameworks, discovery workshops that lead to more discovery workshops. Auburn AI doesn’t do that, and doesn’t take on client work at all. The point of packaging these tools as products instead of a service is simple: a kit you can inspect and buy in five minutes scales further than one person’s calendar ever could, and you get to see exactly what you’re getting before you pay for it.
